Liese Barbier conducts academic research as PhD researcher at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium and is part of the MABEL fund. The MABEL fund - Market Analysis of Biologics & Biosimilars following Loss of Exclusivity - is a collaboration between the research groups Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy andTherapeutic and Diagnostic Antibodies of KU Leuven and the Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam, exploring the market environment of originator biologicals and biosimilars following loss of exclusivity. Liese’s research focusses on the development of a multi-stakeholder framework towards a sustainable and competitive off-patent biological medicines market. The research is supervised by prof. Isabelle Huys, prof. Arnold G. Vulto, prof. Steven Simoens and prof. Paul Declerck.
Liese Barbier studied Pharmaceutical Sciences at KU Leuven. She graduated in 2015 and started her professional career in pharmaceutical care, working as a pharmacist in Brussels. In 2016, she started her PhD at KU Leuven.
